For me, it's never just about the peak moment. I'm drawn to the story around it: the doubt before the start, the grind in the middle, the quiet after the finish line.
As an endurance athlete myself, from the Atlas Mountain Race and Badlands to UTMB Lavaredo, I know what it feels like when the legs are empty and the finish is still hours away. That's where I like to be with my camera. I move at the athlete's pace and go where others can't follow, so I can capture the moments brands want but rarely get close to.
